Shed types and makes

There are many types of shed on the market today and styles. The most typical type of garden shed is a standard apex roof with 3x glass windows on one side and 1x single door at the front

In most cases this type of shed would be a 6x4 If 8x6 then this would have 4x glass windows

Again in most cases these windows do not open they are fixed closed

Things to consider when buying a shed

A good quality shed will not be cheep, BnQ type sheds you can pick up from around £150.00 for a 6x4 shed But are not of a good quality, For a 6x4 shed of a good quality you should expect to pay in excess of £450.00

The most typical garden shed size is 6 foot long x 4 foot wide if that little extra space is needed then an 8 foot x 6 foot would be a good choice, anything bigger than this would be over £1000.00

Shed Floor-Base

The base for your shed to sit on is critical, It is very important for the shed to sit on tanalised battens for good air flow to avoid rotting and damp.

It should sit on a concrete base, if you do not use a concrete base the flooring will not last, Water will penetrate and cause rotting and damp

Special care should be taken on treatment, a good quality wood preservative should be used to protect the wood, always use a good branded preservative
